A sport graduate can work in areas such as sports management and administration, instructing, personal training, coaching, event management or school sport coordination.
The average annual salary of our graduates is $30,000 and upwards, and varies depending on factors such as job type, level of responsibility and sponsorship deals.

Adventure graduates work in a variety of outdoor locations teaching activities such as skiing, snowboarding, sea kayaking, abseiling, diving, fishing, rock climbing, mountain biking, trekking and caving.
Salaries vary, but outdoor recreation and snowsport instructors usually earn between $20,000 and $45,000 per year. Many are self-employed or work on short-term seasonal contracts.
If you’re passionate about developing a career in healthcare, then massage therapy is a great option. Our Certificate in Stress Management and Spa Therapies (Level 5) will enable you to train as a wellness and relaxation massage therapist. Graduates can work in self-employment, or as employees within the spa industry including working on cruise ships or in resorts.
Our Diploma in Advanced Therapeutic Massage (Level 6) prepares you to work as a remedial massage therapist helping clients recover from pain, rehabilitate from injuries or improve sporting performance. Graduates will be eligible to apply for registration with Massage New Zealand as Registered Massage Therapists and often work alongside doctors, physios and other healthcare providers. Upon sueccessful completion of this qualification, you can achieve advanced standing and may wish to progress into the second year of our highly regarded Bachelor of Applied Science (Physical Activity, Health and Wellness).
Our massage programmes are highly regarded within the South Island massage industry and are taught through a blend of online learning, practical block courses held approximately every three weeks on campus, and clinical experience in the Polytechnic’s Massage Therapy Clinic under the supervision of experienced massage therapists.
