Opening of the Mason Centre
Geoff Mason was a founding member of the Otago Polytechnic Council in 1969, and its chair from 1971 to 1990. Mason, who dedicated most of his working life to the Polytechnic, was instrumental in the its move to the new Forth Street campus. The F Block, The Geoff Mason Administration Building, was named after him. Now the atrium between the F and H blocks – The Mason Centre – bears his name.
