Change Jam is a one day workshop that leans on design thinking, start-up methodology and sustainability models to move learners from concerns about the big issues of the world  through to having a plan to take some action.

Otago Girls High School came to OP last week and worked with the Leadership for Change team. The girls were all part of OG's Launch programme. The Launch programme is for year 12 and 13 learners and focuses on making a positive impact on the world through project based learning. The girls grappled with some of the big issues of our time: equity, racism, waste from fashion industry, bullying, body image, elderly care, ocean pollution and active lifestyles. They aligned all of their activity to UN Sustainable Development Goals. They came up with impressive solutions that they can take back to school and prototype.

Change Jam has been piloted in a few different contexts now. It was the starting night for Audacious, Sam Mann's professorial lecture was a "Prof Jam", we have used it on careers events and a variation of it for RA at Te Pa Tauira. Soon we will be visiting Queens high School and St Peter in Gore.
