One of the ways in which we at Otago Polytechnic are making a better world is through research which contributes to improved practice in various health professions and which benefits the health and wellbeing of communities and populations.
To encourage each other and help us be more effective as researchers, we have established an interdisciplinary research community under the umbrella Health & Wellbeing. The research coordinators for Midwifery, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Social Services and Sport, Exercise and Health have been working together on this.
As a starting point we decided to share recent research publications, to find out what Otago Polytechnic Health & Wellbeing researchers are doing so that we can encourage, learn from and collaborate more with each other. So on Tuhono, under the Communities menu, you’ll find a Health & Wellbeing Research page, where you can access recent quality assured journal articles and book chapters by staff across all our health disciplines.
Please make use of this Tūhono page, and do also please let us know how you would like to see this new interdisciplinary community of researchers develop. What would you find beneficial? How might you be able to contribute? We are exploring for example the possibility of a joint symposium next year, and developing a new interdisciplinary Health & Wellbeing research project. We look forward to hearing from you.
