This hands-on, single day course is aimed at equipping construction professionals with the knowledge and tools to implement the Last Planning System (LPS). Participants will gain actionable strategies for achieving collaborative success in construction projects, addressing the pressing need for enhanced productivity and efficiency in the sector.
This course also explores the intersection of sustainable construction principles with Lean practices, emphasizing social responsibility and economic efficiency. Understand how Lean methodologies enhance sustainability in project management and delivery, fostering environmentally conscious and socially responsible construction practices.
This training extends beyond the construction team. Alongside project managers, site managers, planners, supervisors, and tradespeople, we welcome participants from administration and office roles, as well as data and reporting teams. Their practical understanding can aid in integrating data and metrics, enriching project metrics with multi-dimensional insights.
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Explain the key principles and components of the Last Planner System (LPS).
- Describe the benefits of implementing LPS for improved project reliability and reduced variation.
- Apply a holistic and innovative approach to implementing LPS, incorporating visual and collaborative planning techniques such as Root Cause Analysis (RCA), 5 Whys, and 5S Methodology, to develop actionable project plans.
- Develop a roadmap for integrating LPS and other Lean tools into their own projects or organizations.
This course is eligible for CPD (Continuing Professional Development) points. Members of NZIOB can claim 3 CPD points upon successful completion.
