Rekha Shailaj launches sari exhibition at Tūhura Otago Museum

The Six Yards Sisterhood exhibition had a successful launch on Diwali, alongside a series of live performances and some delicious Indian food.

Senior fashion lecturer Rekha Shailaj has created a collection of saris based on her doctoral work, which explores the traditional Indian sari through a contemporary lens, bringing modern Aotearoa New Zealand design into conversation with the artistry of Indian fashion.
