Otago Polytechnic to host Community Engagement events

OP Community Engagement event

Like others across the tertiary sector, Otago Polytechnic has been going through a series of changes in recent years. A government announcement around our future pathway is expected in the next few months.

For now, we're continuing to work towards becoming a standalone institution once again, and are keen to bring our community partners together for a chance to re-engage.

We want to ensure local industry and business partners are kept informed of our plans, and ensure we're being responsive to the needs of our community.

Our first engagement event is scheduled for Wednesday 25 June, where Executive Director Megan Pōtiki will provide an overview of Otago Polytechnic over the last three years, along with a “state of the nation” on how things stand right now, and how we can best support each other.

Chris Williamson (Deputy Executive Director: Academic Delivery) will also give launch details of Otago Polytechnic's new Industry Training initiative, following recent government changes in the work-based learning sector.

We’ll be seeking a “pulse check” from guests through a short survey, and will be offering drinks and nibbles

It’s hoped this will be the first of an ongoing series, and are aiming to hold three community engagements a year (including one around SITE, our annual graduate showcase).
