Who we are

Governance and leadership

Otago Polytechnic is currently a business unit of the New Zealand Institute of Skills and Technology.

The current landscape

Currently, all Otago Polytechnic programmes and training are delivered by Otago Polytechnic Limited, a legal entity of the New Zealand Institute of Skills and Technology.

From 1 January 2026, Otago Polytechnic will no longer be part of the New Zealand Institute of Skills and Technology. We will be a standalone organisation, and all our programmes and training will be delivered by Otago Polytechnic.

All applications and enrolments for our programmes and training will be automatically transferred to Otago Polytechnic from 1 January 2026.

This is simply a legal changeover in organisational ownership – it won’t impact your study journey or experience with us in any way.

All programmes of study or training will continue as planned.

Our excellent learner services, support and facilities are all readily available and we will continue to serve our communities and stakeholders.
