Scholarships

To be considered for this scholarship, applicants must meet all the following criteria:

• Be an international student, meaning you are not a New Zealand citizen or resident. Check if you should choose Domestic or International.
• Be between the ages of 18–23 as of the start of Semester 1, 2026 (i.e., you must turn 18 by February 2026).
• Be enrolled full-time in a 2 year diploma or bachelor’s degree or postgraduate programme at Otago Polytechnic, Dunedin campus.
• Commit to staying at Te Pā Tauira Student Village for the full academic year (February 2026 – November 2026).
• Submit an accommodation application for Te Pā Tauira through the standard application process.

Please note:

• Exchange students and study abroad students are not eligible for this scholarship.

• The scholarship is only valid for accommodation at Te Pā Tauira – Otago Polytechnic Student Village.
• Students must maintain full-time enrolment throughout the academic year the scholarship was issued for
• The scholarship is not transferable or redeemable for cash.
• Payment of semester 1 fees are required to be paid upfront prior to move in and the scholarship will be applied to the second semester fees.
• Recipients must meet the requirements of their Residential Agreement and comply with the Village rules of Te Pā Tauira.
• In the event of change in enrolment including withdrawal from study, the successful recipient is required to repay the full sum of the scholarship to Otago Polytechnic.
• The scholarship may be held concurrently with other awards/grants, subject to approval of Otago Polytechnic.
• Otago Polytechnic Limited reserve the right to terminate the scholarship if the recipient ceases to follow regulations of the programme of study and/or brings the reputation of Otago Polytechnic disrepute.

1. Apply for accommodation at Te Pā Tauira via the online portal Te Pā Tauira | Otago Polytechnic.
2. Once Te Pā Tauira have received your application, we will be in touch with further information about the scholarship.
3. Submit any supporting documents requested (e.g., offer of place, passport).
4. Your application will be assessed based on eligibility and available spaces.
5. Applications open 1 August 2025.

• Entry to Te Pā Tauira is at the sole discretion of Te Pā Tauira selection committee and as such a separate application (including CCRF- Common Confidential Reference Form) is required.
• Successful applicants will receive an email confirmation outlining the scholarship offer.
• You will be asked to confirm your preferred benefit option (meal plan or accommodation discount).
• Final confirmation will be sent once you have moved into Te Pā Tauira and started your studies at Otago Polytechnic.
• Ongoing communication and support will be provided by the Accommodation and International teams.
