Payments for international students
Find out how to pay your fees at Otago Polytechnic.

Tuition payments as an international student
Your offer letter or statement of fees will provide you with the amount you need to pay. All prices you see are in New Zealand Dollars (NZD).
Indicative fees
Your offer letter might show an indicative fee instead of the final tuition fee. This is usually because the offer has been made early, while we are still finalising tuition.
You can still go ahead and pay your fees to get your receipt for immigration. If the fees increase from the indicative fee, you will need to pay the difference before your programme begins. The increase will never be more than 4% of the indicative fee.
You or your agent will be notified by email once the confirmed offer of place has been updated in your application portal.
Tuition fee due date
Fees must be paid in full before your programme starts. We recommend you pay your fees as early as possible to allow enough time for your visa to be processed.
Receipts for Immigration
Once you have paid, you or your agent will be emailed a receipt to submit to Immigration New Zealand. We recommend you pay your fees and submit your receipt as soon as possible so that your visa is processed in time for your start date.
If you do not receive your receipt, please contact us at international@op.ac.nz or academicregistry@op.ac.nz
Accepted Payment methods
- Convera – The easiest way to make a payment from another country is to use the Convera Global Pay link above and follow the instructions. You will need to use your Otago Polytechnic Student ID number as a reference for us to track your payment.
- Credit Card – You can pay by credit card over the phone with Customer Services by calling +64 3 477 3014 (International calling charges may apply).
You can also pay in person at the Customer Service counter.
Check with your bank to make sure the limit on your credit card will allow you to pay the total fees. - Bank Transfer – You can make a Bank Transfer from your home country. Take your offer of place to your local bank.
If an overpayment has been made, the overpayment amount will be refunded to the account that has paid the tuition fee.
