Lynda.com is upgrading to LinkedIn Learning

From Wednesday 17 July, Lynda.com is upgrading to LinkedIn Learning.

LinkedIn Learning will allow you to leverage the same great content as Lynda.com in a new way, with personalised course recommendations and insights.

Much like Lynda.com, LinkedIn Learning offers more than 5,000 expert-led courses in business, tech, and creative topics.

Is there anything I need to do for the upgrade?

No, we'll take care of everything for you. The next time you access Lynda.com material (after 17 July), you'll automatically be directed to LinkedIn Learning to activate your account.

Will I be able to access Lynda.com during the upgrade?

Unfortunately we need a bit of downtime to prepare your account for the upgrade so you won't be able to login to Lynda.com with your OP account from late in the day on Tuesday 16 July until the morning of Wednesday 17 July. However, you'll still be able to access any free content that doesn't require you to be logged in.

Is the content the same on LinkedIn Learning as on Lynda.com?

Yes, all of the same great content you know from Lynda.com will be on LinkedIn Learning.

I have Lynda.com content in my Moodle course. Will this still work?

Yes. If you link to Lynda.com content from Moodle, learners will be automatically redirected to LinkedIn Learning. However, Lynda.com links in Moodle will be updated to LinkedIn Learning after the upgrade.

LinkedIn Learning have advised there are changes around embedding videos. The embed option in LinkedIn Learning is only available to those who have connected their LinkedIn account with their LinkedIn Learning account. There is also a limit of 5 embedded videos per month. If you are sharing multiple videos in Moodle, we recommend sharing the links rather than embedding.

What do I do if I have a problem?

If you have any issues logging into or accessing LinkedIn Learning content after the upgrade, please let us know by logging a case through Service@OP or by contacting the Service desk (email servicedesk@op.ac.nz or phone 0800 765 948).
