No access to OP systems on Saturday 1 May
Due to our Trades Training Centre building works, there will be no access to OP technology and various IT services for remote users or on campus on Saturday 1 May.
This will affect all of our campuses, as well as Te Pā Tauira student village, and there will be no internet access at Te Pā Tauira on the day.
Impacted IT services include (but are not limited to):
- The OP website
- The Performance Excellence Portal
- Microsoft Teams
- On-site internet access at our Dunedin campus and at Te Pā Tauira
Some limited services may be available, but the day will essentially be a ‘blackout’ for Otago Polytechnic IT services.
Our contractors are working hard to minimise the time we have no connection. We envision this being between 4am and 5pm on the day.
As part of this work, we are also connecting new pipes to the hot water boiler. This will require us to shut down the boiler heating system on the Dunedin campus on Friday 30 April, meaning heating will be off on the weekend of 1 and 2 May.
Further technology and IT service shutdowns will be required as building work continues but will not disrupt access to the same level. There will be a shutdown isolated to D Block (Dunedin Campus) the following Saturday 8 May.
