Phil Handcock


Phil has enjoyed an extensive career in academia as a teacher and practitioner interested in almost anything to do with exercise and sport. He is a well published researcher, having completed contract and grant research using a range of research methodologies. He reviews regularly for a number of academic publications. Phil is a highly experienced and enthusiastic postgraduate supervisor with research interests in the following themes;
- exercise rehabilitation of injury
- injury prevention through conditioning
- return to play decision making
- professional competence of exercise professionals
- making physical activity sustainable
- the energy cost of upper body exercise
- concussion management and student life
- the dilemma of evidence based practice for exercise professionals
