Veterinary Clinic

Otago Polytechnic’s School of Veterinary Nursing offers two services to the public: a veterinary retail outlet, and speying and neutering of cats and dogs. These services form part of our veterinary programme, ensuring that our students are work-ready, having been exposed to real-life situations and experiential learning.

Veterinary Retail outlet

We have a retail outlet that sells cat and dog food, toys and treats. The outlet also offers preventative and proactive healthcare advice, such as parasite control (fleas and worms) and sells related products.

At our retail outlet, students learn how to use the veterinary computer system, EFTPOS and experience real-life and first-hand sales experience. They work alongside a staff member (veterinary nurse), who helps and supports them.
