The Education Code of Practice

At Otago Polytechnic, we are committed to supporting the wellbeing of our learners to make sure that you have a positive experience with us.

The Code of Practice is a document that all education providers in New Zealand must follow. It sets out the legal requirements that education providers must meet for the wellbeing and safety of their learners, both international and domestic. You can check the document to understand your rights as an international student, and the responsibilities of your education provider.

The Education Code of Practice 2021

As a condition of our pastoral care, we have agreed to observe and be bound by The Education (Pastoral Care of Tertiary and International Learners) Code of Practice 2021, published by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA). This is also known as the Tertiary and International Learners Code of Practice.

For full details of the Code of Practice in English or Te Reo Māori, see the NZQA website
