Otago Polytechnic

OP STUDENTS

Summer School overseas scholarships and programme packages (Jun – Aug)

Experience a new culture and make valuable international connections that can last a lifetime.

A number of Otago Polytechnic’s partner institutions around the world offer scholarships to our students from year 2 of study onwards. Either degree or both degree and diploma students are eligible to apply. Scholarship places are limited for some programmes.

Our partners also offer programme packages (of between 2-4 weeks) during our winter break (around July). These block courses are usually school and degree/diploma specific and credit bearing – so can be credited back to your study at OP on discussion with your school. These programme packages are designed for international students and are delivered in English. There is a programme fee, but it covers tuition, activities/trips, accommodation (usually), week day meals (often) etc. – so it’s very good value.

Our international partners let us know about upcoming courses during the year, so keep an eye on Facebook and Moodle for any updates. Please contact us, if you’d like more information: exploremore@op.ac.nz

SUMMER SCHOOL SHORT COURSES WITH SCHOLARSHIPS

SUIBE – Shanghai University of International Business & Economics, China

June - July

Shanghai University of International Business & Economics (SUIBE) has generously awarded places for Otago Polytechnic students in the Shanghai SUIBE Summer School Programme.

This is for students who are in their second year (or higher) of diploma or degree study at Otago Polytechnic and are New Zealand or Oceania countries passport holders.

The programme is taught in English and is sponsored by Shanghai Municipal Government Scholarship for international students. The scholarship will cover the cost of tuition fees, accommodation, meals, culture activities, field trips and textbooks at Shanghai University of International Business & Economics (SUIBE) for the successful applicants.

The programme will consist of a basic Chinese course, lectures focused on topics of business, economics, finance, business law, management and Chinese cultures, cultural experiences, field trips and activities with local students. You do not need an academic background in these subjects to participate – it is a general interest programme, suitable for all eligible students. Previous participants have had no business background but still found the programme extremely worthwhile and interesting, as well as an amazing experience.

Our schools at Otago Polytechnic are flexible regarding the departure date and are encouraging to those wishing to participate.
