Frequently asked questions

How do I apply?

You can apply directly through our website. Begin the application process by clicking anywhere you see the Apply Now button on our website.

Check our helpful application guide for more information, or get in touch if you need any assistance.

Do you charge an application fee?

We do not charge any application fees. You will not need to pay us until you are sent an Offer of Place, which is also your invoice for your tuition fees.

What fees are involved with study?

Your main cost will be tuition fees. Estimated tuition fees are listed on each programme page. Additional costs include the Student Services Fee, insurance, and other course-related expenses. Your Offer of Place will include your invoice for all study-related costs.

Remember to plan for travel and living expenses, as your study fees do not cover these costs.

Do I have to pay my fees in full before I start study?

We will invoice you for your fees for the year before you begin study. Fees must be paid in full before you start study.

If you are starting in Semester 2, we will invoice your tuition fees from your start date through to the end of the year. You will need to pay the invoice in full before you begin.

When do I make my payment?

Your payment should be made in full once you have received your Offer of Place.

If my visa is delayed and I am going to miss my programme start date, what should I do?

Please contact our international team as soon as possible to discuss your options by emailing International@op.ac.nz

What happens if my visa is declined?

Please contact us at International@op.ac.nz as soon as possible. If you let us know within 7 days of your visa being declined and before the programme start date, you will receive a refund (an administration fee will be subtracted from your refund).
