About the programme

Want to study beauty therapy but don't meet the entry requirements?

This bridging programme provides the perfect solution. Successful completion ensures you meet the academic entry requirements for our New Zealand Certificate in Beauty Therapy (Level 4).

During this hands-on certificate, you will get to perform basic skincare and make-up techniques in the beauty classroom. 

As well as more specific learning about human biological science and practical beauty skills, you will also gain foundation communication, career and study skills. 

Please note: To move into the New Zealand Certificate in Beauty Therapy (Level 4) you must be at least 18 (or turning 18) in the academic year you intend to study it.

16-19 years old?

If you are a 16-19 year old and feel that school didn’t work out for you, you may be able to study this programme via our Youth Guarantee Scheme and pay no fees. This also applies if you are going to be 15 years old at the time that this programme starts and you have an early exemption from school. A change for 2023 enrolments

When you apply to study with Otago Polytechnic in 2023, you will be enrolled with Te Pūkenga, the new national network of vocational and applied education in Aotearoa New Zealand. You will learn in the same way, in the same place, and with the same people. The great news is that this enables us to share skills and knowledge across a network of passionate education providers, to better help you succeed. Enrolling in programmes that start in 2023, means that you will graduate with a Te Pūkenga qualification.
