2023/2024 Animal Care & Veterinary Nursing programmes
We have a large animal healthcare and veterinary nursing school, and have been offering high quality online/distance and on campus study for many years, producing graduates who are sought after by industry.
Our large and experienced team are highly connected with industry and pride themselves on supporting your learning journey fully – whether that’s online or on campus.
By studying with us, you’ll gain significant industry-related work experience and benefit from our large and experienced team. There is also an opportunity to undertake a placement at the Dunedin Wildlife Hospital.
Te Pūkenga
In 2023 our whānau will be getting bigger as all Polytechnics across New Zealand come together under one organisation – Te Pūkenga.
Te Pūkenga is building a national network of integrated learning that better meets the needs of learners, their whānau, employers and the community. It will give learners more choices and flexibility in what, where and how they learn.
Our new programmes
We’re excited to be part of Te Pūkenga's large-scale review of animal healthcare and veterinary nursing programmes.
This review is ongoing but the qualifications have reached a stage where they are listed with NZQA, and we're working through final development and approval of the programmes. This means we don't have full programme details yet but we can open applications for most of them.
We've created a page for each of the programmes we'll be offering from 2023/2024 and have added all the info we have at this stage. We'll continue to add to these pages when we can.
On these pages, you'll have the chance to apply if we've opened applications or to register your interest if we haven't been able to yet. If you register your interest, we'll touch base with you when applications do open.
