We don’t have full details and entry requirements for programme(s) within this study area yet as they’re currently being developed but we’ve tried to give you guidance below around what we do know.

New Zealand Certificate in Animal Management (Level 4) (Pet Grooming)

This new programme recognises the role of the pet groomer in the routine healthcare of our companion pets.

You’ll learn about dogs, their health, welfare and husbandry, anatomy, physiology, low-stress handling techniques, and grooming.

Once you’ve completed the first course, you’ll need to organise access to a pet groomer so you can do your 240-hour work placement.

You will graduate with the technical knowledge and skills you need to perform this job under broad supervision, as well as effective teamwork and communication skills.
