About the course

The techniques we teach assume that students have some previous ceramic experience.

Students can build on existing knowledge by working individually with the tutor at a more advanced level. Some of the skills covered include hand building techniques, throwing on the wheel, glaze mixing and application as well as some firing techniques.

The Art School Ceramic Studio is well-equipped, providing a safe and sociable working environment. Tools are provided but if you have any clay tools bring them along. Wear old clothes, overalls or an apron and wear covered footwear. You may also want to bring an old towel that can get dirty.

Please note: in addition to the course fee, you will need to spend $35 on materials - please bring $35 cash with you to the first class. Please see the Materials section below for more details.
