Anna Baker is a graduate of Otago Polytechnic’s Bachelor of Occupational Therapy degree, and works for the Dunedin multi-disciplinary health team, Rata South.
“My role centres on rehabilitation and intervention for people who have had an illness or been in an accident, and for children who are not reaching expected developmental milestones,” explains Anna.
She says her time at Otago Polytechnic, which included lengthy work placements, helped prepare her for the realities of the workplace.
“The work placements were brilliant,” says Anna. “Otago Polytechnic gave me a really good understanding of occupational therapy and an appreciation of the diversity of the profession. This allowed me to work out which areas of occupational therapy I was drawn most to.”
