Working for one of New Zealand’s most renowned chefs at a premier Dunedin restaurant, Rose Gleeson was appointed to her role straight after finishing her cookery programme at Otago Polytechnic.
“Working here at Pier 24 for Michael Coughlin is a great experience,” says Rose, who is a Commis Chef. “He’s very helpful and definitely goes the extra mile to make sure you understand everything.”
Michael has a long history of employing cookery graduates from Otago Polytechnic’s School of Hospitality. He says the advantage for him is getting to work with the students during their work experience placements and right through to graduation.
Rose says she loves working at Pier 24. “We’re all really close friends and the food is fantastic, so I often get to try a few samples!”
Please note: The Certificate in Cookery (Level 4) is no longer offered by the School of Hospitality. Please view our list of Hospitality programmes.
