Taster sessions

Choose three taster sessions you'd like to go to on Day One. These will help you decide which workshop you want to attend on Day Two.

DAY 2
Intensive workshop options

Select a career you're interested in and complete a hands-on challenge that relates to it. See for yourself what that career is like and find out what it's like to study.


 

Fashion Design

Have a go at screen printing onto t-shirts.

T-Shirt Screen Print Design Challenge

Use your talent and creativity to design and screen print a t-shirt that reflects your individuality.


 

Product Design

Take part in visualisation and creative thinking exercises.

 

 

 

Laser Cutter Challenge

In this hands-on workshop you'll learn product design, model making, and how to think in 3D to produce a 3D model.

 

Culinary Art

Design and make a pizza

Creative Lunch Challenge

Learn how to make a week’s worth of creative and appealing lunches with minimal work, using just one session food preparation.

 

Engineering (select one option)

  1. Design and cut an item using laser or waterjet machines
  2. Program a robot arm to do a simple task
  3. Do a strength of material exercise with testing equipment

Structure and Destruction Challenge

Use CAD software to design a structure and make it with our workshop equipment. Test your design to destruction with a robot arm and analyse the results.

 

Leadership for Change

Discover how to challenge the norms and create the world you want to live in.

Change Jam Challenge

Hear inspirational talks from change makers and take part in a workshop that zooms in on the issues that matter so you can gain the tools to take action.

 

Sport, Exercise and Health

  1. Complete a pre-exercise screening to determine your suitability to exercise.
  2. Conduct a body composition analysis and see what your lean mass is.

Exercise and Event Challenge

Following on from the taster, this covers instructional exercise, event planning, nutrition, anatomy, a health and wellness assessment – and you'll have a workout! 
(Please bring a laptop or smartphone if you have one, running shoes and clothes suitable for light exercise.)
