Otago Polytechnic offers a range of facilities designed to ensure you have the right tools to successfully complete your programme of study and enjoy yourself along the way!
Located on Otago Polytechnic’s Dunedin Campus, The Robertson Library is a joint library of Otago Polytechnic and Otago University. As well as housing a collection of books and online resources in a wide range of subject areas, the Robertson Library also provides the following services:
- Reference and research services
- Photocopying and printing
- Work and study areas
- Access to a selection of research and journal article databases.
Manaaki Student Centre
Located in the heart of the Dunedin Campus, the Manaaki Student Centre is a great area to relax, eat, drink and meet other students. Manaaki also hosts a variety of social events throughout the year. Halal and vegetarian food is available.
If you’re chasing a caffeine boost or just a lunchtime bite, AKO Café serves quality coffee, specialty drinks and a variety of tasty sweets and savories.
Located at Otago Polytechnic’s Dunedin Campus within the heart of the university and stadium districts, Technique Restaurant offers a diverse menu, excellent service and a cosy, ambient environment for lunchtime and evening dining.
Technique Training Restaurant is a successful initiative established by the School of Hospitality, training our future chefs, hotel managers and restaurant staff under the guidance of industry professionals. We host a wide range of themed events throughout the year, including mid-winter Christmas dining and dessert evenings.
- Lunch: Seating from 11.30am to 1.00pm
- Dinner: Seating from 6.00pm to 7.30pm
Technique Training Restaurant is fully-licensed. We are not a BYO restaurant as our hospitality students sell wine as part of their training and assessment requirements.
Unipol is a state-of-the-art recreation centre located in the Forsyth Barr Stadium. It has a fully-equipped weights room, cardio room, swiss ball/stretch area, snooker and pool tables and areas for playing basketball, volleyball, badminton and table tennis. Services include personalised exercise programming, craft and leisure courses, day and weekend recreational trips, recreational gear hire, group fitness classes, social sport and a physiotherapy clinic.
Student Health Centre
Conveniently located on our Dunedin Campus, the Student Health Centre provides the same services offered by your family doctor. It also promotes health education and offers health screening tests, nutrition advice, vaccinations and some minor surgery options. The cost is $15 or free if you have a current Community Services card.
Polykids Childcare Centre
Polykids Childcare Centre provides quality early childhood education and care for children up to five years of age. Spaces are limited and we strongly advise contacting Polykids when you apply for your programme of study.

Worship and religion
Many faiths are practiced and respected in New Zealand. Dunedin has facilities and places of worship for Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Islamic, Jewish and other major faith groups. There are many faith-based groups that students are welcome to join on arrival. Many are based at the nearby University, and can be located through the OUSA Clubs and Societies website.
