Te Punaka Ōwheo is the Polytechnic’s Māori Centre and it includes Poho which is the Māori student space, equipped with computers, internet and a kitchen. There is kai available for breakfast. We also cook lunches for Māori students every Wednesday at 12pm, so pop in and meet the staff and other students.
Poho is automatically unlocked for our Māori students from 7.30am – 5pm on weekdays but Māori students are able to access the space from 7.00am – 10.00pm with their Otago Polytechnic ID Card.

Looking for Dunedin-based accommodation in 2018?
Ta Pā Tauira, the brand new, on campus Otago Polytechnic Student Village, will be open for the first time in 2018.
Purpose-built for students, it's the perfect home to enjoy student life to the full within an exciting and supportive community.
With its prime location, you will enjoy a short walk to campus whilst still only being minutes from the city centre, giving you the freedom to explore Dunedin's vibrant student culture. The Village has been constructed with the environment firmly in mind. Sustainable materials have been used throughout, such as the timber used for the unique structural frame.
The 231-bed furnished residential village offers fully-catered single rooms (dorms), and self-catered studios (standard or deluxe) and four-bedroom apartments.
Our single rooms and studios are now full but we do still have bedrooms in our apartments available.
