BEAUTY

Bridging certificate to beauty therapy

Gain foundation communication, career and study skills, as well as specific knowledge of human biological science and practical beauty skills. Successful completion of this programme will give you a New Zealand Certificate in Study and Career Preparation (Level 3) and ensure you meet the academic entry requirements for our New Zealand Certificate in Beauty Therapy (Level 4) which is subject to final approval.

Diploma in Beauty Therapies and Epilation (Level 5)

This programme takes your skills in beauty therapy to the next level, and advances your skills in skin care and body treatments. Become a senior beauty therapist with greater responsibilities and the option to even manage or own a beauty clinic. International Therapy Examination Council (ITEC) qualifications are offered in this diploma. If you choose to complete the ITEC exam, your qualifications will be recognised by employers and clients internationally.

New Zealand Certificate in Beauty Therapy (Level 4)

Beauty therapy roles are varied, creative and in high demand. Employers are seeking trained therapists with the ability to walk into a new job and to work with clients straight away. This programme will allow you to work with real clients and to access our top-quality facilities and products. Upon graduation, you will meet the requirements to become a Registered New Zealand Beauty Therapist or can pursue further study. International Therapy Examination Council (ITEC) qualifications are optional in this programme.

HAIRDRESSING

New Zealand Certificate in Hairdressing (Emerging Stylist) (Level 4)

Equivalent to the second year of a hairdressing apprenticeship, you must have completed the New Zealand Certificate in Hairdressing (Salon Support) (Level 3), or equivalent, before progressing into this qualification. Gain the up-to-date skills that are in demand in the commercial salon environment and build your portfolio throughout the year. Graduate with the ability to enter directly into the third year of your apprenticeship in industry.

New Zealand Certificate in Hairdressing (Salon Support) (Level 3)

This programme is equivalent to the first year of a hairdressing apprenticeship. Delivered in our hairdressing training salon, you will undertake activities that mimic working in a real salon. There are regular visits from industry professionals and our close ties with industry ensure that you are given the most up-to-date information about technologies and trends. Upon completion, continue your second year of training with the New Zealand Certificate in Hairdressing (Emerging Stylist) (Level 4).
