Graduate Diploma in Social Services (Career Practice), (Disability Support and Coordination) or (Mental Health Support)

Want to broaden your Bachelor of Social Services degree with a second specialty? Or add a focused specialty to a generic degree? This one-year programme will enable you to gain a vocational specialty by working with clients and studying professional practice and theory. Upon successful completion, you will graduate with either a Graduate Diploma in Social Services (Career Practice), Graduate Diploma in Social Services (Disability), or a Graduate Diploma in Social Services (Mental Health).

If you don't have the academic entry requirements needed to enter one of our diploma- or degree-level healthcare programmes, then this is the perfect option! This bridging programme can help you meet the minimum academic criteria for application to the New Zealand Diploma in Enrolled Nursing (Level 5), New Zealand Diploma in Wellness and Relaxation Massage (Level 5), Bachelor of Nursing, Bachelor of Midwifery, Bachelor of Occupational Therapy, Bachelor of Social Services and Bachelor of Applied Science. This year long programme is replacing the Certificate in Health (Level 4) from February, 2018. It consists of two separate Certificate qualifications - the New Zealand Certificate in Study and Career Preparation (Level 3) and the New Zealand Certificate in Study and Career Preparation (Level 4). You will be enrolled in both of these qualifications at the beginning of the year.

Master of Occupational Therapy

New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Social and Community Services) (Level 4)

Gain valuable experience during a fieldwork placement and become equipped with the knowledge, skills and values required to work in human services in New Zealand and overseas. This programme includes the following specialty strands in Community Facilitation, Mental Health and Addiction Support, and Social Services. Online delivery available by negotiation.

New Zealand Diploma in Enrolled Nursing (Level 5)

Enrolled Nurses deliver nursing care and health education across a range of health care settings under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Prepare to apply for registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand (NCNZ) as an Enrolled Nurse through this diploma. Time spent in our clinical practice facility and on clinical placement will give you vital hands-on experience and allow you to put your theory into practice.

Postgraduate Certificate in Applied Practice in Health (Specialty)

This high-level programme has been developed specifically to enable both occupational therapists and non-occupational therapists to complete a postgraduate certificate. Deepen your theoretical knowledge to support your clinical reasoning, within the constraints of your practice environment, to ensure effective outcomes for clients of your services.

Offered through the Moana House Training Institute, this qualification will enable you to take up a professional role within the mental health and addictions sector. It is recognised by DAPAANZ (Drug and Alcohol Practitioners’ Association Aotearoa–New Zealand), the relevant professional body for addictions practitioners, and upon successful completion you can apply for professional registration with DAPAANZ

Graduate Diploma in Tertiary Education (Level 7)

If you would like to study flexibly towards a teaching qualification in tertiary education, we can offer you a stimulating programme relevant to your teaching context. You will be able to study in a way that suits your schedule and responsibilities and, as a graduate, you will be able to design and facilitate inclusive learning in your tertiary cultural context. Experienced tertiary educators may wish to access the Assessment of Prior Learning (APL) pathway offered by Capable NZ.

Introduction to Te Tiriti o Waitangi – credits towards the Certificate in Mata a Ao Māori (Level 4)
