Gain the core skills and knowledge you need to work in the outdoor adventure industry with this exciting and hands-on Certificate. Upon successful completion, you will be eligible for entry into the Diploma in Outdoor Leadership and Management (Level 5) which will take a further one year of full-time study to complete.

Diploma in Avalanche Studies (incorporating the NZMSC Avalanche Safety Stage 2 Certificate)

If you love being in the mountains during winter and have a strong sense of responsibility, become a qualified snow safety professional through this programme. This Diploma incorporates the NZSMC Avalanche Safety Stage 2 Certificate which is a prerequisite for most industry management roles. From 2019, this programme name will change due to a national review of qualifications that is being carried out by NZQA across all New Zealand tertiary institutions.

Diploma in Outdoor Leadership and Management (Level 5)

Embark on this action-packed programme to strengthen and develop your skills in the technical, professional, instructional and leadership aspects of a range of outdoor pursuits. The first year of this Diploma is the Certificate in Outdoor Pursuits (Level 4) but direct entry to the second year of the Diploma is available to selected applicants.

Health bridging certificate

If you don't have the academic entry requirements needed to enter one of our diploma- or degree-level healthcare programmes, then this is the perfect option! This bridging programme can help you meet the minimum academic criteria for application to the New Zealand Diploma in Enrolled Nursing (Level 5), New Zealand Diploma in Wellness and Relaxation Massage (Level 5), Bachelor of Nursing, Bachelor of Midwifery, Bachelor of Occupational Therapy, Bachelor of Social Services and Bachelor of Applied Science. This year long programme is replacing the Certificate in Health (Level 4) from February, 2018. It consists of two separate Certificate qualifications - the New Zealand Certificate in Study and Career Preparation (Level 3) and the New Zealand Certificate in Study and Career Preparation (Level 4). You will be enrolled in both of these qualifications at the beginning of the year.

New Zealand Certificate in Avalanche Risk Management (Level 5)

New Zealand Certificate in Introductory Snowschool Instruction (Applied) (Level 4) (Ski) or (Snowboard)

Train in the dry snow of the spectacular Southern Alps and develop skills which could lead to a job teaching skiing or snowboarding in New Zealand or overseas. All classes are taken at the Cardrona Alpine Resort in Wanaka.

New Zealand Certificate in Sport, Recreation and Exercise (Multi-Sector) (Level 4)

Gain the skills needed for entry-level roles in the sport, recreation or exercise industries. Alternatively, successful completion of this Certificate will provide you with the entry requirements for our Bachelor of Applied Science degree.

New Zealand Diploma in Wellness and Relaxation Massage (Level 5)
