While we teach techniques that assume no prior ceramic experience, those wishing to build on their knowledge will have the opportunity to work with the tutor at a more advanced level.

These classes are therefore suitable for beginners to experienced artists. Some of the skills covered include hand building techniques, throwing on the wheel, glaze mixing and application as well as some firing techniques.

The Art School Ceramic Studio is well-equipped, providing a safe and sociable working environment. Tools are provided but if you have any clay tools bring them along. Wear old clothes, overalls or an apron and wear covered footwear. You may also want to bring an old towel that can get dirty.

Please note: in addition to the course fee, you will need to spend $35 on materials - please bring $35 cash with you to the first class. Please see Materials section below for more details.
