Incorporating the International Therapy Examination Council (ITEC) qualifications

Become a leader in beauty therapy. Expand your skills and specialisations, prepare yourself for more senior beauty therapy roles and gain an internationally-recognised qualification. Become a senior beauty therapist with greater responsibilities and the option to even manage or own a beauty clinic.

This programme takes your skills in beauty therapy to the next level, and advances your skills in skin care and body treatments.

International Therapy Examination Council (ITEC) qualifications are offered in this diploma. If you choose to complete the ITEC exam your qualifications will be recognised by employers and clients internationally.

Entry requirements
  • You must have successfully completed a 120 credit (minimum) Level 4 Tertiary qualification in beauty therapy such as our New Zealand Certificate in Beauty Therapy (Level 4)
  • Applications from mature students (over 20) are welcome.
  • International students will be individually assessed to ensure you are ready for this study. 

All students (international and domestic) for whom English is not a first language:

  • must demonstrate English Language skills with an IELTS overall band score (academic) of 5.5, with no band score lower than 5.5 OR
  • must provide acceptable alternative evidence of English language proficiency depending on the visa decline rate of the country you are from. See here for acceptable evidence and visa decline rates by country.

All scores must be achieved in a single test completed in the preceding two years. You cannot combine scores from multiple tests. If you have achieved NCEA Level 3 University Entrance you are not required to provide evidence of English Language skills. 

If you don’t have the entry requirements above, talk to us about whether you have the equivalent skills and knowledge or to determine if this is the right programme for you.
