Now you can embark on diploma and degree programmes no matter what your academic background! Successful completion of this programme will give you a Certificate in Foundation Studies (Level 4) and direct entry into many of our diploma and degree programmes.

Kickstart - to employment!

This is the ideal programme if you want to make yourself more employable! You will spend two to three days a week at the Polytechnic and the rest of the time on work placement or undertaking volunteering work. Upon successful completion, you will gain an Otago Polytechnic certificate qualification.

FarmHand

  • On campus with a work placement
  • 17 weeks full-time

Love the outdoors and practical work? This 17-week, Dunedin-based scheme for 16-25 year olds is run in partnership with the Malcam Charitable Trust and is a stepping stone into education and employment in the primary sector industry. You will take part in a work placement, improve your study skills, gain an Otago Polytechnic certificate qualification and learn how to put together a great CV!

Bridging programme to engineering diploma

Now you can become an engineer no matter what your academic background! Successful completion of this programme will give you a New Zealand Certificate in Study and Career Preparation (Level 3) and direct entry into our New Zealand Diploma in Engineering.

Bridging programme to engineering degree

  • Dunedin
  • 1 semester full-time
  • Level 4
  • Starts to be confirmed for 2018 (this programme will not be offered in 2017)

Do you want to prepare for degree-level study in engineering? Then this is the perfect solution! Successful completion will give you a New Zealand Certificate and direct entry into our Bachelor of Engineering Technology.

Certificate in Foundation Studies (Level 4) (Business)

  • Dunedin and Auckland
  • 1 semester full-time (Dunedin); 16 weeks full-time (Auckland)
  • Level 4
  • Starts Dunedin: February and July. Auckland: January, March, June, August and October
  • Apply until start date

Successful completion of this Certificate will guarantee you entry into our business diploma or degree programme! Through project-based learning, discover how to produce effective business documents and communication. The Auckland-based programme is for international students only.

New Zealand Certificate in Business (Administration and Technology) (Level 3)

  • Dunedin or online through the TANZ eCampus
  • 1 semester full-time (Dunedin); 20 weeks full-time (TANZ); part-time options for both
  • Level 3
  • Starts February and July (TANZ-monthly intakes)

This nationally-recognised programme is ideal if you are already in, or seeking to move into, a general administrative, data entry, receptionist or customer service role.
