Employers love our fashion design graduates because they’re innovative, hard-working, solution-focused and well-prepared for the realities of the fashion world. Many of our graduates have gone on to work for internationally-acclaimed designers such as NOM*D, or to create successful labels of their own such as Maaike and twenty-seven names. A qualification in Fashion Design could lead to you a role in buying, styling, fashion writing, fashion photography, patternmaking, fashion design, production management, CAD patternmaking, costume for film and theatre, accessories, teaching, fashion marketing,or merchandising.

New Zealand Certificate in Arts and Design (Level 4)

  • 6 months full-time; part-time over two years (you will study during semester one in both year one and two)

No matter what direction your creative career takes, you'll benefit from having the ability to learn and apply creative processes, methods and technologies in both art- and design-based studio projects. This programme is great preparation for further study in any creative programme. Successful completion of this Certificate and the New Zealand Certificate in Digital Media and Design (Level 4) will prepare you for application to the Bachelor of Design (Communication, Fashion or Product), Bachelor of Architectural Studies or the Bachelor of Visual Arts.
