Blended delivery for BACHELOR OF MIDWIFERY
What is blended delivery?
Blended delivery means that you learn through a combination of practical experience, online learning and traditional classroom teaching. The Bachelor of Midwifery is delivered this way in all of our satellite areas, including Dunedin. It consists of:

Weekly ākonga
(face-to-face tutorials
in small groups)

Online learning
& online tutorials
with lecturers

Midwifery practice experiences
(such as hospital
shifts and community-
based midwifery experience)

Intensive seminar
blocks* held on
campus in Dunedin
and the Kāpiti Coast
* 5 one-week seminar blocks each year in Year One and Year Two and 3 one-week seminar blocks in Year Three
Practice experience starts from year one where you will follow the experiences of at least 5 women through pregnancy to childbirth and complete shifts in a maternity facility.
Where can I study?
Choose one of our six satellite areas around New Zealand. Each area has a designated Midwifery lecturer (kaiako) who provides support and runs the face-to-face ākonga.
