Learn the skills you need to work in the counselling and social services sector. Explore different values and gain an understanding of how to work ethically alongside your own values and beliefs with a person-centred approach to counselling support and care.
Our Counselling programmes will ensure you develop a broad scope of practice in line with a contemporary approach to social service support and wellbeing. You’ll learn how to use local and national networks, resources and organisations to provide referral pathways, and you’ll gain a solid knowledge of the relevant legislation needed to work with people within health and wellbeing field.

This programme is offered by Moana House Training Institute and is designed for people who are already working in the mental health and addictions sector. You will gain the specialised technical knowledge and skills to provide treatment to people seeking assistance with problems of gambling, alcohol and drug use. While you learn to apply specialised knowledge, Te Taketake is also about promoting your own personal growth.
