Learn how to make great mocktails for a commercial bar environment, and develop your understanding of a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic products used on licenced premises.

This STAR course is for high school students in years 11 – 13. Check out our STAR courses page for more information.

Note: You will not taste alcohol as part of this course, under any circumstances. However, you will be using alcohol to develop your knowledge about alcoholic products and practices commonly used within licenced premises.

You are required to comply with our host responsibility policy at all times.

These courses are run subject to minimum numbers enrolling.

 

What you'll learn

Unit 21057 - 2 credits at Level 1: Prepare, construct, and garnish mocktails for the hospitality industry

Unit 14420 - 3 credits at Level 3: Demonstrate knowledge of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages

This two-day course runs from 9.00am until 3:30pm both days.

 

What to bring with you

Please bring a highlighter pen, ballpoint pen and some paper. You also need to wear fully enclosed leather/pleather shoes – no heels – and wear pants or a skirt that goes below the knee. You will be working within a commercial environment and are required to comply with our health and safety and food safety requirements at all times.
