Don’t have the required academic qualifications to enter a degree or diploma-level healthcare programme? No problem! This programme can act as a bridging option to help you meet the minimum academic criteria for application to the New Zealand Diploma in Enrolled Nursing (Level 5), Bachelor of Nursing, Bachelor of Midwifery, Bachelor of Occupational Therapy, Bachelor of Social Services and Bachelor of Applied Science. Compulsory block courses are required for those studying online. Please note their are prerequisites for entering this July, 2017 intake. From February 2018, this programme will be replaced by our Health bridging certificate.

This year long programme is replacing the Certificate in Health (Level 4) from February, 2018. It consists of two separate Certificate qualifications - the New Zealand Certificate in Study and Career Preparation (Level 3) and the New Zealand Certificate in Study and Career Preparation (Level 4)*. You will be enrolled in both of these qualifications at the beginning of the year. If you don't have the academic qualifications required to enter a degree or diploma-level healthcare programme, these Certificates can act as a bridging option. New Zealand Certificate in Sport, Recreation and Exercise (Multi-Sector) (Level 4)*

Gain the skills needed for entry-level roles in the sport, recreation or exercise industries. Alternatively, successful completion of this Certificate will provide you with the entry requirements for our Bachelor of Applied Science degree.

Certificate in Bicycle Mechanics (Level 3)

This Level 3 programme is the only one of its kind in New Zealand and has been specifically designed by Cornerstone Education Limited and the Bicycle Industry Association of NZ (BIANZ) to provide industry-relevant, up-to-date theoretical and practical training. Programme content will be delivered at Central Campus with work experience placements.

Certificate in Outdoor Pursuits (Level 4)

Gain the core skills and knowledge you need to work in the outdoor adventure industry with this exciting and hands-on Certificate. Upon successful completion, you will be eligible for entry into the Diploma in Outdoor Leadership and Management (Level 5) which will take a further one year of full-time study to complete.

New Zealand Certificate in Introductory Snowschool Instruction (Applied) (Level 4) (Ski), (Snowboard) or (Telemark)*

  • Approx. 40 hours of theory followed by an 18-week practical application

Train in the dry snow of the spectacular Southern Alps and develop skills which could lead to a job teaching skiing or snowboarding in New Zealand or overseas. All classes are taken at the Cardrona Alpine Resort in Wanaka. Please note that this programme starts in June, 2018.

This practical programme uses a blend of online learning, practical block courses and clinical experience in our Massage Therapy Clinic to give you the skills you will need. Graduates will be eligible to apply for registration with Massage New Zealand as a Registered Massage Therapist. This programme will be replaced from February, 2019 by the New Zealand Diploma in Remedial Massage (Level 6)* (*subject to final approval).
