If you don't have the academic entry requirements needed to enter one of our diploma- or degree-level healthcare programmes, then this is the perfect option! This bridging programme can help you meet the minimum academic criteria for application to the New Zealand Diploma in Enrolled Nursing (Level 5), New Zealand Diploma in Wellness and Relaxation Massage (Level 5), Bachelor of Nursing, Bachelor of Midwifery, Bachelor of Occupational Therapy, Bachelor of Social Services and Bachelor of Applied Science. This year long programme is replacing the Certificate in Health (Level 4) from February, 2018. It consists of two separate Certificate qualifications - the New Zealand Certificate in Study and Career Preparation (Level 3) and the New Zealand Certificate in Study and Career Preparation (Level 4). You will be enrolled in both of these qualifications at the beginning of the year.

New Zealand Certificate in Sport, Recreation and Exercise (Multi-Sector) (Level 4)

Gain the skills needed for entry-level roles in the sport, recreation or exercise industries. Alternatively, successful completion of this Certificate will provide you with the entry requirements for our Bachelor of Applied Science degree.

New Zealand Certificate in Outdoor and Adventure Education (Multi-skilled) (Level 4)*

New for 2019, this programme replaces our Certificate in Outdoor Pursuits (Level 4). This redesigned and redeveloped qualification will give you the core skills and knowledge you need to work in the Outdoor and Adventure Education industry. Upon successful completion, you will be eligible to enter our New Zealand Diploma in Outdoor and Adventure Education (Level 5)* which is being offered from 2020.

New Zealand Certificate in Introductory Snowschool Instruction (Applied) (Level 4) (Ski) or (Snowboard)

Train in the dry snow of the spectacular Southern Alps and develop skills which could lead to a job teaching skiing or snowboarding in New Zealand or overseas. All classes are taken at the Cardrona Alpine Resort in Wanaka.

New Zealand Certificate in Avalanche Risk Management (Level 5)

This programme is replacing our Diploma in Outdoor Leadership and Management Offered for the first time in 2020, embark on this action-packed programme to strengthen and develop your skills to safely instruct or guide a range of outdoor activities. Graduates will be eligible to apply for full registration on the New Zealand Register of Recreation Professionals (NZRRP).

New Zealand Diploma in Wellness and Relaxation Massage (Level 5)

Learn about anatomy and physiology, relaxation and therapeutic massage, stress management and wellness promotion methods. Graduates may operate their own massage therapy business, or may find employment within the spa industry. Alternatively, you can progress into the second year of our Bachelor of Applied Science to expand your skill set and increase your employment options.

This Diploma incorporates the NZSMC Avalanche Safety Stage 2 Certificate which is a prerequisite for most industry management roles. This programme will be replaced from 2019 by the New Zealand Certificate in Avalanche Risk Management (Level 6) (subject to final approval).

Bachelor of Applied Science

With specialties in Personal Training, Sport and Exercise, and Health (Physical and Nutrition). This contemporary degree is based around practical experiences and problem-based learning. Gain real-world industry experience, take part in community projects with the support of staff and graduate with the ability to gain employment at competent practitioner level within a professional organisational setting. Sport and Exercise specialty graduates will meet the registration requirements for the Register of Exercise Professionals.

Postgraduate Certificate in Applied Science
