Health Bridging Certificate (Level 3 and 4)

Don’t have the academic requirements you need to enter one of our diploma- or degree-level healthcare programmes? No problem. By studying courses such as Function of the Human Body and an Introduction to Careers in Health, you will be well-prepared to apply for your chosen diploma or degree. This programme is made up of two qualifications - the New Zealand Certificate in Study and Career Preparation (Level 3) with a health context and the New Zealand Certificate in Study and Career Preparation (Level 4) with a health context.

New Zealand Certificate in Exercise (Level 4)

  • Dunedin
  • Six months full-time; twelve months part-time
  • Level 4
  • Starts February and July
  • Apply by 30 November and 30 May

Start on your path to becoming a Personal Trainer with this exciting new programme. Learn how to teach exercise, gain an understanding of human anatomy and physiology, and discover how the role of behaviour change can lead to lasting results for your clients. Successful completion will enable you to apply for registration as a gym instructor with REPs NZ (Register of Exercise Professionals New Zealand).

New Zealand Certificate in Exercise (Level 5)

Gain the skills and knowledge you need to become a Personal Trainer. With this hands-on qualification, taught by highly-experienced and industry-connected staff, you will discover how to plan, implement and evaluate exercise programmes. By also studying nutrition and behaviour, you will be fully prepped to work with clients in a holistic manner. Successful completion of this Level 5 Certificate will enable you to apply for registration as a Personal Trainer with REPs NZ (Register of Exercise Professionals New Zealand).

Bachelor of Applied Science

  • Dunedin

  • Apply by 30 November (preferred). Late applications will be accepted until start date of programme if places available.

Postgraduate Certificate in Applied Science

This qualification will help you extend and deepen your knowledge and understanding of the underpinning base theories and procedures that are relevant to the practice environment. This programme has specialties in Performance Analysis, Physical Conditioning or Exercise and Health.

Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Science

  • Dunedin
  • One year full-time; two years part-time
  • Level 8

The qualification will help you extend and deepen your knowledge of the underpinning base theories and procedures used in the practice environment, in a wider and more encompassing scope than a postgraduate certificate. This programme has specialties in Performance Analysis, Physical Conditioning or Exercise and Health.

Master of Applied Science

Master theoretical and procedural subject matter through a body of scholarly applied work and prepare for an academic career or a lead sport or exercise management role. This programme has specialties in Performance Analysis, Physical Conditioning or Exercise and Health.
