With a transport qualification from Otago Polytechnic, you will graduate with the ability to join the road transport industry as a heavy rigid vehicle or heavy combination vehicle operator. Learn everything you need to know about operating heavy vehicles from commercial road transport rules and regulations to health and safety, technical fuel-efficient driving, route planning and communication, and loading and unloading procedures.

The biggest point of difference at Otago Polytechnic is the practical experience you’ll gain as you study. You will be fully supported in your workplace learning through workplace visits, supervised assessments, and regular one-on-one communication.
